Mcarthur High School News:- Due to a large police presence, Hollywood high school and elementary school were placed on lockdown Friday. After 1 p.m., helicopter footage showed officers at McArthur High School, located just west of Florida’s Turnpike on Hollywood Boulevard.
What Happened In Mcarthur High School News?
As well as West Hollywood Elementary School and West Hollywood Middle School were also put on lockdown. There was a call from Hollywood Police regarding a possible threat, but it appears to be a false alarm. To ensure everyone’s safety, officers are searching the school.
Parents are advised not to respond to the school at this time because Hollywood Boulevard remains closed in front of the school. A possible threat has been reported to Hollywood police at 6501 Hollywood Boulevard, according to police spokeswoman Deanna Bettineschi.
Students did not appear to be evacuated from the school at any time but were kept in their classrooms. Many parents gathered outside the school, but Bettineschi said authorities ask that parents not attempt to contact the school at this time.
“At the time of this writing, it appears that the call to McArthur High is a false call,” Hollywood police said. The police are investigating a “possible emergency incident” on the campus of Broward County Public Schools, according to an announcement on Twitter.
Law enforcement is currently at @McArthur_HS and West Hollywood Elementary School after a call was received alerting of a possible emergency incident on campus.
